ATV opens 99th American Tire Depot

LA MIRADA, Calif. — ATV Inc. has opened American Tire Depot retail stores in Upland, Ventura and Wasco, Calif., pushing its network of stores to 99 throughout Southern California.

The new stores are all conversions of existing auto repair/maintenance locations acquired over the past year, the company said.

The store in Upland is a former NAPA AutoCare Center; the Ventura store is a former California Smog Testing Center; and the store in Wasco previously was a Big O Tires location.

The Ventura and Wasco stores opened in June and May, respectively, while ATV is planning a grand opening for the Upland store this month.

The new stores — all six-bay operations, according to online photos of the locations — bring to nine the number of American Tire Depot stores opened in 2017.

ATV did not identify the previous owners of the three stores.

Upland is a city of 73,000-plus in San Bernardino County in California's Inland Empire; Ventura is a city of nearly 110,000 on the Pacific Coast northwest of Los Angeles; and Wasco is a community of about 25,000 north of Bakersfield, where the company has two other outlets.

The La Mirada-based dealership said it has more openings planned for the coming months, but declined to be more specific. At 99 stores, ATV has the 11th largest network of retail tire locations in the U.S., according to Tire Business calculations.
