Carlstar opens D/C in Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta — Carlstar Group L.L.C. has expanded its capabilities and services in Western Canada with the opening of a 60,000 sq.-ft. distribution facility in Edmonton.

According to Franklin, Tenn.-based Carlstar, the warehouse offers full distribution capabilities, including building assemblies in all sizes. The state-of-the-art facility offers larger capacity and will help streamline Carlstar's customer operations, according to the company, ensuring on-time delivery, order accuracy and access to a broader range of the Carlstar product portfolio from one location.

The expanded dock capabilities will enable more efficient logistics and handling, the company added.

"We have strategically selected Edmonton as the location of our new facility in Western Canada," said Greg Lamothe, general manager of Canadian Operations for Carlstar.

"Edmonton places us closer to many of our customers, with a larger and more modern space, allowing us to provide more efficient service and logistics."

This facility will supply:

• Carlisle-branded agriculture and construction, specialty trailer, powersports and outdoor power equipment tires;

• Cragar-, Blackrock- and Unique-branded aftermarket wheels; and

• Marastar-branded flat-free, pneumatic and semi-pneumatic products.
