Vacu-Lug to provide tire management for IWJS

GRANTHAM, England — Industrial Water Jetting Systems (IWJS) has selected Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres Ltd. of Grantham to provide tire management and conservation services for its fleet of 230 vehicles.

IWJS, which specializes in waste water management and high-pressure water-jetting services, has introduced a tire fleet management policy for each division of its group. The company said the policy will improve efficiency and ensure compliance across the board for its mixed fleet of vans, trucks and cars.

Each vehicle's tire requirement is individually monitored and controlled using Vacu-Lug's web-based fleet management software, VMS.

IWJS, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, provides round-the-clock waste management and industrial cleaning services throughout the United Kingdom.

"And with multiple, ongoing commitments to numerous industry sectors, we need to ensure maximum vehicle 'uptime' while keeping a close eye on compliance and cost," IWJS Group Buyer Jowan Burt said.

According to IWJS, Vacu-Lug combines standardized procurement, using a combination of Westlake and Hankook new tires and Vacu-Lug's own Logistik retread tires, with a strict tire management service including full reporting data regarding inspections, tire fitment details, service fitments, and work authorizations. IWJS said Vacu-Lug, a family-owned business located in Grantham, will provide "tight financial and legal control across the IWJS fleet."

"Now we can measure it, we can manage it." Mr. Burt said. "Whereas before we had limited control over a somewhat disparate tire procurement and management policy, today we have instantly accessible and accurate tire-related data at our fingertips.

"Not only does Vacu-Lug's VMS system enable us to remain compliant, but also it provides us with the tools to identify and rectify any high cost areas or anomalies as soon as they appear."

Grantham-based Vac-Lug is one of the U.K.'s largest commercial tire retreaders and a provider of tire management services.
