Horizon Tire expands Supermax offerings

IRWINDALE, Calif. — Wholesaler/distributor Horizon Tire Inc. has has expanded its Supermax brand by adding a passenger/CUV fitment, the Supermax Touring TM-1.

Horizon said it has plans to expand the Supermax line further with light truck, all-terrain and highway tires. Until recently, the Supermax brand featured commercial, industrial, OTR and agriculture lines.

The Touring TM-1 will be available in 42 sizes for rim diameters ranging from 13 to 18 inches, allowing it to fit some of the most popular crossover vehicles, Horizon said. The tires, which carry T, H and V speed ratings, also feature a 45,000-mile warranty.

Irwindale-based Horizon is sourcing the passenger line from Thailand; the importer/distributor declined to identify the manufacturer, however.

Horizon said the Touring TM-1 features a distinct tread pattern that provides stability, durability, safety and performance on both wet and dry roadways.

"Today's tire buyers are looking for high value, even in economy tires," Zhong Shen, Horizon Tire's product development manager, said.

"They expect traditional wet and dry traction performance, long mileage, a smooth ride and the assurance of good quality. The Supermax Touring TM-1 delivers on all these expectations."

Horizon Tire will offer both factory-direct container and warehouse-direct, trailerload programs in support of Touring TM-1 sales.

Horizon Tire has been supplying tire products in the U.S. for more than a decade and operates distribution centers in California, Texas, New Jersey and Georgia.

In addition to Supermax, Horizon is the authorized U.S. distributor for the Antares, Grenlander and Rydanz brands.
