FINDLAY, Ohio — Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has updated the Limited Protection Policy on its the Hercules H/P 4000, increasing the treadwear coverage on the cosmetic, ultra-high performance tire to 50,000 miles, an increase of 10,000 miles.
"The H/P 4000 has been a dependable, long-lasting tire in our line-up," Jedd Emans, Hercules vice president of marketing, said in a news release. "I guess you could say we're giving credit where credit is due by upping the mileage coverage by 25 percent. For most drivers, that's a whole additional year of coverage and peace of mind."
Earlier this year, Hercules also updated the tire's Road Hazard Protection, providing free replacement up to two years or 50-percent treadwear. The tire also carries Workmanship and Materials coverage, offering free replacement to 50-percent tread life.
Designed for muscle cars, both vintage and modern, the H/P 4000 features:
- A performance-enhanced tread design for cutting-edge traction in all conditions;
- Large multi-siped tread blocks that taper into a rounded shoulder: and
- A wide solid-center rib, which provides high-speed stability and ensures consistent rubber-to-road contact.
Available in 15 sizes for 14-, 15- and 16-inch rim diameters, the tire carries a T-speed rating, with the exception of size, P295/50R15, which is S-speed rated, according to the Hercules website.
Many sizes also feature raised, white lettering for a classic look that the tire maker said adds a "touch of personality and style."
