PHILADELPHIA — Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack has struck a personal sponsorship deal with IndyCar racer Graham Rahal, who will be doing promotional work for the Philadelphia-based auto parts retailer and service provider.

Mr. Rahal, who drives for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, announced the signing of the deal June 2 on his Facebook page. Subsequently he added the Pep Boys logo to his racing helmet in time for the June 3-4 Detroit Grand Prix, where he went on to win both races of the Saturday/Sunday doubleheader.

After the race weekend, he posted a shout-out on his Facebook page to Pep Boys:

"I'm thinking Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack may be my good luck charm! Come onboard & boom 2 wins!"

The partners did not disclose the value or length of the deal.

Pep Boys — which operates as part of Icahn Automotive Group L.L.C., together with the auto parts retailer Auto Plus — said Mr. Rahal, who has six victories in a 10-year IndyCar career, will be shooting exclusive behind-the-scenes race prep videos that Pep Boys will be sharing with customers on social media.

Mr. Rahal stands sixth in the 2017 IndyCar season point standings after nine of 17 races, 43 points behind leader Scott Dixon. A win is worth 50 points.

Mr. Rahal is no stranger to working in the automotive aftermarket. In 2011-13 he had a personal service contract with TBC Corp., flying TBC's various retail brands on his car at two different teams.
