PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — St. Lucie Battery & Tire recently opened its 14th retail store in the Port St. Lucie/Fort Pierce/Stuart area and is evaluating additional opportunities for further expansion.
The newest store, along Federal Highway 1 east of downtown Port St. Lucie, is an eight-bay location that previously was a Tire Kingdom store.
TBC Corp. vacated that location last year after its lease expired and relocated to another site in the area.
The new store is in Port St. Lucie proper, expanding the dealership's reach in its home market to three locations.
St. Lucie Tire said the new store offers free customer Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, charging stations for mobile devices and a comfortable workspace. Customers can watch their cars being worked on via closed-circuit TV.
The dealership, now in its 47th year in business, invested in advanced diagnostic gear for troubleshooting and tire-mounting equipment that is capable of installing tires and rims in rim diameters up to 30 inches.
The scale of investment was not disclosed.
The dealership declined to comment at this time on specifics of further expansion opportunities.
Port St. Lucie is a city of nearly 165,000 located on Florida's Atlantic Coast north of West Palm Beach and south of Vero Beach.
St Lucie Battery & Tire has more than 100 employees at its 14 stores, located throughout four counties.
