ULVILA, Finland — Tire production systems supplier Cimcorp Oy is considering expanding its headquarters site in Ulvila to keep pace with double-digit growth the past several years.
The manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic gantry-based order fulfillment and tire-handling solutions has applied to buy 2.1 acres of land adjacent to its existing facility.
The move is in response to growth, Cimcorp said, as sales have doubled in the past four years, including 35-percent growth last year, and workforce has increased by around a third.
"We are considering extending our facilities, because the existing premises have become too small. At the moment we are also operating in several rented premises," said Marjo Rimpelä, vice president, finance and administration.
The Finnish company has petitioned the City of Ulvila for the purchase of the land. Cimcorp said acquiring the land would allow it to expand its facilities by nearly 22 percent, bringing the total floor space to 205,570 square feet.
There has been no timetable established for the expansion.
Cimcorp operates in three other locations in Finland and has subsidiaries in the U.S. and Canada — Cimcorp USA Inc. in Norcross, Ga., and Cimcorp Automation Ltd. in Grimsby, Ontario, respectively.
The company is part of Murata Machinery Ltd., the fourth biggest logistics automation supplier in the world.
