SMP named Federated's 'outstanding vendor'

KAUAI, Hawaii — Federated Auto Parts Inc. named Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP) its outstanding vendor of the year during its recent annual meeting on Kauai.

Federated also honored five other top supplier partners at the meeting, held May 18 at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.

"Once again, Federated members singled out SMP…for exceptional service and overall excellence," said Federated Chairman Bo Fisher, who congratulated SMP and the other five winners for their "commitment and continued support of Federated members and programs."

SMP supplies Federated with a range of replacement parts for engine management and temperature control; its brand names include Standard, BWD, TechSmart, Intermotor, Hayden, ACI and Four Seasons.

The other vendor of the year winners were:

• Warren Distributing Inc. — order fill;

• Remy International Inc. — education and training;

• KYB Americas Corp. — marketing;

• Cardone Industries — sales representation; and

• Dorman Products Inc. — electronic cataloging.

At the meeting, Federated members participated in a series of general sessions, informational gatherings and one-on-one meetings with suppliers.

Along with members of National Pronto Association, they attended joint events held by the Automotive Parts Services Group, including a vendor expo.
