WASHINGTON — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is hosting a Twitter chat this afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. as a prelude to National Tire Safety Week, which runs May 28-June 3.
The Twitter chat will play out on #Tirewise, NHTSA said. Tire safety experts will be on hand during the chat to answer any tire-related questions, NHTSA said.
Tirewise is NHTSA's consumer education campaign designed to provides consumers and retailers with essential information about tire buying and maintenance.
NHTSA launched the campaign in 2014. Tirewise has a dedicated landing page on the agency's SaferCar.gov website.
