FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C.'s General Tire brand has partnered with outdoor recreation advocacy group Tread Lightly! to help promote safe and responsible use of motorized and mechanized vehicles in the outdoors.
Centerville, Utah-based Tread Lightly! is a nonprofit that promotes protecting and enhancing recreation access and opportunities through outdoor ethics and stewardship.
Tread Lightly!'s goal is to balance the needs of the people who enjoy outdoor recreation with the need to maintain healthy ecosystems and thriving populations of fish and wildlife. The scope of their work includes both land and water and represents nearly every form of outdoor recreation, including hunting, recreational shooting, fishing and boating.
Travis Roffler, General Tire's director of marketing, said the partnership is a logical step for the brand.
"The fact that we are so involved in desert racing and the off-road industry through our Grabber line of tires, it only makes sense for us to support those who are promoting proper usage of our trail system and outdoor recreation areas," Mr. Roffler said.
