DANVERS, Mass.— Maxam Tire North America Inc. is launching an online e-commerce platform that will allow customers the flexibility to create and place warehouse orders, thus complementing the existing online container-ordering programs.
The online ordering option is part of a package of expanded services Maxam is offering, including extended operating hours and additional customer service staff.
"As our distribution throughout North America continues to grow, we realized the need to extend our service hours to continue providing the highest level of customer support throughout North America," said Christopher Johnson, chief marketing officer.
Danvers-based Maxam Tire North America is a division of Maxam Tire International S.a.r.l. of Luxembourg, which in turn is part of China's Sailun Group. Maxam specializes in specialty OTR tire products, covering applications for the mining, construction, warehousing and manufacturing industries.
Maxam Tire operates distribution warehouses in Long Beach, Calif., and Memphis.
Maxam's customer service hours now are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST. Maxam did not say how many new staff it has hired.
