Bridgestone afina el programa de responsabilidad social global

    TOKIO — Bridgestone Corp. ha presentado un compromiso de responsabilidad social del corporativo (CSR) global refinado, al cual llama “Our Way to Serve” (Nuestra manera de servir), centrado en tres prioridades: la movilidad, las personas y el medioambiente.

    El nuevo compromiso del fabricante de neumáticos basado en Tokio “refleja la filosofía de mucho tiempo de la empresa acerca de servir a la sociedad con una calidad superior y un reconocimiento de que las mejores compañías no solo trabajan para sus accionistas, sino que también contribuyen a crear un mundo mejor”.

    Bridgestone has renewed its corporate responsibility efforts and said it will focus on these three key areas of implementation.

    “Vivimos en una época de cambio global sin precedentes. Ya sea desigualdades sociales en crecimiento, la variedad de impactos de la globalización o los efectos del cambio climático, el mundo está enfrentando muchos retos”, dijo en una declaración Masaaki Tsuya, el CEO global y funcionario ejecutivo representativo de Bridgestone.

    “Nuestro equipo siempre ha aceptado su responsabilidad de ayudar a avanzar un desarrollo sustentable y resolver problemas mundiales, pero ahora se está concentrando en áreas de prioridad que puedan tener un mejor impacto debido a la escala líder y conocimiento único de Bridgestone”.

    Bridgestone dijo que está comprometido a:

    • Proporcionar una movilidad más fácil, segura y más homogénea a sus clientes;
    • Construir comunidades más seguras y saludables y mejorar el acceso a la educación; y
    • Trabajar hacia una sociedad sustentable operando en armonía con la naturaleza, valorando los recursos naturales y reduciendo las emisiones de dióxido de carbono.

     

    Durante 2017, según Bridgestone, sus empleados estarán trabajando para afinar los objetivos del medioambiente y establecer indicadores de desempeño clave para las áreas de prioridad de movilidad y de personas con base en mejores prácticas y participaciones clave de grupos interesados.

    La compañía también dijo que está fortaleciendo la gobernabilidad básica, el cumplimiento y las características de comportamiento, incluyendo: cumplimiento y competencia justa, continuidad de negocios y manejo de riesgos, derechos humanos y prácticas laborales, seguridad e higiene industrial, adquisición y calidad y valor del cliente.

    Debido a que hace negocios en más de 150 países, Bridgestone dijo que cree en la importancia de desarrollar relaciones y contribuir con las comunidades locales donde opera.
