WARREN, Mich. — Bosch Automotive Service Solutions has unveiled its Robinair 34288NI air conditioning recovery machine designed for small shops that service passenger vehicle A/C systems.
The 34288NI is an entry-level unit that recovers, recycles, evacuates and recharges R-134A mobile A/C systems, covering most of the current passenger vehicle models.
The 34288NI features a 4.3-inch, color graphic display and the ability to customize the machine through add-ons, including a refrigerant and oil database for North American vehicles and a printer to print service summaries directly from the machine, which are both available when ordering the machine, the company said.
Bosch said the machine meets or exceeds SAE J-2788 requirements, with more than 95-percent recovery efficiency and charge accuracy to better than a half-ounce of the programmed charge amount.
The machine also includes an automatic oil drain feature, which drains the oil recovered and deposits it into a graduated container to measure the amount of oil needed to refill the system.
The automatic air purge feature eliminates damaging air without the need to monitor gauges or open valves, the company said.
The machine features a programmable vacuum function that defaults to 15 minutes and can be set for up to 99 minutes. Once set, the remaining time is displayed on the screen. A refrigerant management system displays use and monitors remaining filter life. The machine also alerts technicians when on-third of filter life remains.
