NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Race tires and OTR tires are at opposite ends of the tire universe, but Bridgestone Americas — in its search for ways to leverage its participation in the Indianapolis 500 — has come up with one way to try and bridge that gulf.

Bridgestone, producer of both Firestone-brand race and OTR tires, is reaching out to construction equipment owners/operators and their employees, offering them a chance to win a trip for two to the 2017 Indy 500, scheduled for May 28 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"Our customers in the construction and aggregates industries work hard and we are committed to delivering dependable Firestone products that they can rely on to get the job done," said Michelle Lane, director of marketing, off-the-road, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.

"With this in mind," he continued, "we wanted to celebrate that commitment to hard work and offer a unique opportunity to attend an iconic sporting event that is endemic to the Firestone brand."

The grand prize consists of round-trip air travel for two people, hotel accommodations for three nights and two tickets to the 101st running of the Indy 500. Firestone is the official tire of the Verizon IndyCar Series, used by all competitors in that series, which includes the Indy 500.

The contest coincides with the launch of the Firestone Versabuilt radial OTR tire line, which debuted at the recent CONEXPO trade show in Las Vegas.

The contest is open to legal U.S. resident, 21 years of age or older who work as commercial off-road equipment owner/operators or are employed by a company that uses commercial off-road equipment such as aggregate quarries, construction companies or rental equipment companies.

Entries are being accepting until 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time, March 31. To enter the sweepstakes, visit: http://commercial.firestone.com/en-us/versabuiltgiveaway.

    No purchase is necessary.
