BOWIE, Md.(March 7, 2017) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will offer a 300-level Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Tech course designed to train and certify fleet and dealer technicians in need of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) T compliance training, TIA said.

The two-day classes will be held in Louisville April 20-21 and April 27-28, the association said.

The CTS Tech course is designed for technicians with at least one year of hands-on experience, according to TIA.

To be certified, students must both successfully complete the final exam and demonstrate proficiency in various skills, the association said. All technicians who successfully complete the course will receive a TIA certificate of completion, 13 uniform patches and a two-year subscription to the bimonthly publication "Commercial Tire Service Today."

TIA is planning to host CTS Tech classes in Chicago later this year, and in 2018 the association may hold a CTS Tech Training tour across the U.S.

Tuition for the Louisville course is $395 per person. A $50 per person discount is offered to fleets and dealerships registering three or more individuals.

Registration forms are available at www.tireindustry.org/training. For more information about the class, contact Christine Hoogenboom at [email protected] or 800-876-8372.
