BRUSSELS (Feb. 22, 2017) — Two U.S. tire recycling experts will be among the speakers at the 24th European Tyre Recycling Conference, sponsored by the European Tyre Recycling Association and scheduled for March 22-24 in Brussels.
Denise Kennedy, president of DK Enterprises and an official of ASTM International and the Synthetic Turf Council, and Michael Blumenthal, president of Marshay Inc. and former vice president of the Rubber Manufacturers Association, will speak at the conference.
Ms. Kennedy and Mr. Blumenthal will be among several speakers addressing the controversy over crumb rubber infill for athletic fields and its effect on the recycled rubber market.
Also speaking on crumb rubber infill will be Salome Cisnal de Ugarte of the Brussels office of Crowell & Moring; Andreu Gelpi of the Spanish waste management firm GMN; Bruno Marabotto of the City of Turin, Italy; and Marcin Ostachowski, a Polish recycling expert.
Jorge Diaz-Del-Castillo of the Environment Directorate-General of the European Commission will be the conference's March 23 keynote speaker, the ETRA said.
