LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2017) — Maxam Tire North America Inc. has added two 200-ton presses to support expansion of its Solid OTR Line and development of a full service wheel program.

The presses have been installed in Maxam's facilities in Long Beach and Memphis. Customers now are able to order mounted wheel assemblies for the Maxam MS708 in sizes from 17.5-25 up to 29.5-25.

Maxam Tire's full service wheel program will offer dealers the ability to purchase stocked 25-inch wheels or ship assemblies to either location and have the old tires pressed off, and new tires pressed on customer's existing wheels, the company said.

The program covers both inbound and outbound freight, as well as disposal.

"Many dealers cannot justify the cost of installing a high capacity press, simply because the market for this type of product is limited," Bevin Goordat, director of operations, said in a statement.

"We believe our full service wheel program provides additional opportunities for our dealers to better serve their customers, in a cost effective manner."

The Maxam MS708 solid OTR tire features a three-stage all rubber construction that extends service life, reduces wear on equipment, and provides the operator with a more comfortable ride when compared to two-stage tires in the market, the company said.

Danvers, Mass.-based Maxam Tire North America is a division of Maxam Tire International S.a.r.l., which designs, manufactures and distributes off-the-road specialty tire products and which in turn is a business unit of China's Sailun Group.
