CTDA members talk politics at Jan. event

PICO RIVERA, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2017) — The effect of the presidential election on the tire industry and the benefits of using the Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) guide were among the topics of discussion at the California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) New Year Luncheon.

Tire Industry Association (TIA) President Tom Formanek discussed what the presidential election might mean to the tire industry.

SEMA Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) Chairman Joe Findeis of the Ultimate Wheel & Tire Plus Sizing Guide spoke about the benefits of the WTC Ride Guide as it assists dealers with vehicle performance relating to wheel and tire sizing.

The event was held Jan. 12 in Pico Rivera, with 76 attendees representing 46 companies in attendance. The event was sponsored by 1-800EveryRim — OEM Wheels.

Other speakers included Chris Likert of Federated Insurance, who spoke as CTDA's official liability Insurance vendor, while CTDA Director Dave Redfern highlighted the benefits of CTDA membership. CTDA President Chris Barry of the Independent Tire Dealer Group was master of ceremonies.

"The spirit of this event is for guests to really enjoy the social period and to see old friends while making a whole lot of new ones," said Billy Eordekian of 1-800EveryRim – OEM Wheels, CTDA board member and event host.

Gold sponsors were Federated Insurance, Yokohama Tire and Pirelli, while silver sponsors were Lakin Tire and Voxx Wheels.
