LA MIRADA, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2017) — ATV Inc. has opened six American Tire Depot retail stores in the greater Los Angeles metro area, including five former Performance NAPA AutoCare Centers that it acquired in late 2016.
The new stores — in Culver City, Hollywood, Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Upton and West Covina — expand the dealership's network to 98 stores, stretching as far north as Paso Robles and south to San Diego, a distance of 325 miles.
ATV acquired the Culver City, Hollywood, Thousand Oaks, Upton and West Covina locations from Tim Huddleston, a former NASCAR racer who opened his first Performance NAPA AutoCare Center in 2015.
The Pasadena location formerly operated under the Autobahn Tire & Automotive Center name.
Terms of the acquisitions, which affected about 25 employees, were not disclosed.
ATV has reopened the stores under American Tire Depot colors and signage and is bringing them in line with its other stores in terms of product and services offered, according to Avo Kamberian, director of marketing.
The acquired stores average six service bays, according to online photos of the locations.
American Tire Depot, which is marking its 25th year in business in 2017, offers up to 28 brands of tires along with a range of services, including shocks and struts, oil and lube changes, maintenance/inspection, brakes, etc.
ATV last expanded a year ago, acquiring Wayne's Tire & Auto Repair, with five outlets along California's Central Coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles, in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria and Lompoc."
