    MAGOG, Québec (Feb. 7, 2017) — Off-road tire specialist Camso Ltd. has rolled out an underground mining tire it calls the "most advanced underground mining tire" for load-haul-dump (LHD) equipment.

    The MST 776 features a smooth, extra-deep L5 tread pattern that Camso said helps to provide tread volume, durability and puncture resistance.

    The tire's amplified contact surface help to improve traction and minimize slippage.

    Other features include:

    • A premium rubber compound that provides resistance against tread and sidewall wear and cuts, and reduces carcass heat build-up;

    • An impact guard sidewall designed to deflect debris and reduce stress cracking; and

    • A rim guard protector that shields the wheel for extended life and constant inflation.

    "Knowing how uptime is crucial in underground mining, the new Camso MST 776 was engineered to maximize tread life while protecting it from puncture," Mike Dembe, Camso's Product Management Director for North America and Latin America, said.

    Camso also claims the MST 776 has outperformed the industry benchmarks, showing 15-percent better life and 2-percent better heat resistance. Both are direct results of the higher tread depth and advanced compound engineering, Camso said.

    "The MST 776 is all about superior performance," Mr. Dembe said, "and customers will see as it outperforms the competition in terms of tire life and heat resistance."
