JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 2, 2017) — The Auto Care Association (ACA) is partnering with the University of North Florida (UNF) to attract college-aged students to careers in the auto care industry.
ACA staff and member volunteers are joining with UNF's Coggin College of Business to promote auto care as a highly desirable career choice, the association said.
The centerpiece of the outreach effort will be an internship fair to be held March 1 on the UNF campus in Jacksonville from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the ACA said. The association is coordinating auto care industry participation at the fair, and is looking for member companies to represent the industry alongside the ACA.
A luncheon mixer for UNF business students is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 28.
"This event gives the auto care industry unique access to students who are actively seeking internship opportunities," the ACA said.
Students from a variety of relevant majors will be invited to all events, the ACA said, including: accounting, economics, finance, financial services, international business, management, marketing, and transportation and logistics.
Member participants will be encouraged to promote the merits of their companies, interview students and even fill open internship slots for summer 2017.
There is no cost to attend this event. However, if companies would like to have their own table at the internship fair, there is a $150 fee.
Members interested in participating in the UNF outreach program should contact Katy McQuiston at [email protected] by Feb. 15.
