FORT MILL, S.C. (Jan. 24, 2017) — Continental Tire the Americas is voluntarily recalling 325 General Grabber light truck tires because of potential tread separation that could result in loss of vehicle control.
Continental said it has received no reports on accidents or injuries that may have resulted from the tires condition.
The tires being recalled are size 33x12.50R18 LT118Q. Produced in May 2015 at Continental's Mount Vernon, Ill., plant, the tires carry Department of Transportation codes A3CB 1YC 1815 and A3CB 1YC 1915 and were sold into the U.S. replacement market only, Conti said.
Continental notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the recall details on Jan. 20 and will work with tire distributors and dealers to identify anyone who may have purchased one of the affected tires.
Tires in the recall may show signs of localized tread wear, excessive vibration, noise and bulging in the tread area. Additional information about the recall is available at continentaltire.custhelp.com.
