BOWIE, Md.—The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will hold the first Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Advanced Instructor class of its 2017 ATS Training Tour Jan. 31-Feb. 3 in Dallas.
TIA has not yet revealed the exact site of the training.
Other ATS tour locations and dates will be Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 28-March 3; Baltimore, June 20-23; Seattle, Wash., in September; Louisville, Ky., in October; and Sarasota, Fla., in December.
The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day, in-depth classroom and hands-on seminar that prepares industry professionals to return to their dealerships to train other technicians for certification, according to TIA.
Certified ATS training includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service, including wheel installation with the proper torque and tire repair, the association said.
The course includes a full day of instruction on tire pressure monitoring systems, according to TIA.
