MOUNT JOY, Pa.—United Tire & Service L.L.C. has signed on as a presenting sponsor for the Super Cup Stock Car (SCSC) Series—a racing series for older NASCAR-type stock cars running in the eastern U.S—for 2017.
SCSC Series competitor Steve Harvilla, one of the founding members of United Tire, said he looks forward to showcasing the brand to a wider audience through the partnership from behind the wheel of the Bobby Gerhart Racing stock car.
Mr. Harvilla has been a member of the Bobby Gerhart Racing Team for the past 26 years and has assisted with the construction of the race cars and work in the pit crew. With United Tire, he splits his time between working at the company's outlets in Lower Merion and Rosemont, Pa.
"I'm grateful to have been approached to be a presenting sponsor and that I am able to combine my passions both in and out of the office into one," he said. "Our team at United Tire is thankful for the opportunity."
Formed in 2007, the SCSC Series is an affordable alternative to existing stock car racing tours. The series features 600 horsepower, steel-bodied stock cars that were formerly associated with similar racing divisions, United Tire said.
The series runs at tracks in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. For more information about the SCSC Series, visit supercupstockcarseries.com.
United Tire & Service is comprised of 18 tire and service locations across the Delaware Valley.
