O'FALLON, Mo. (Jan. 3, 2017) — Plaza Tire Service has opened a second retail store in O'Fallon, giving the dealership seven locations in the St. Charles County area and 59 stores in the firm's four-state distribution area.
The new store, a seven-bay structure in north O'Fallon, is about four miles north of the dealership's existing store in the city.
"It's an excellent location for us," said Scott Rhodes, vice president of Plaza Tire Service. "We have great visibility, and it's easy for customers to get in and out of the parking area."
The store was built over the past several months at the corner of North Main Street and Ginnever Avenue, the site of a former Phillips 66 filling station.
"This second O'Fallon location is a natural progression for us," said Plaza Tire President Mark Rhodes. "We started doing business here in 1998, and we see this as an excellent opportunity to better serve this growing market."
O'Fallon, a city of about 82,000, is located about 30 miles west of St. Louis on I-70.
Plaza said it designed the store with a variety of customer amenities, including comfortable seating, televisions, complimentary WiFi service and a large window overlooking the service bays so customers can watch as work is performed on their vehicles.
The 5,460-sq.-ft. store opened for business in December. Plaza Tire did not disclose its investment in the property.
Plaza Tire is considered the 17th largest retail tire dealership in the U.S., according to Tire Business research, based on the number of stores — 44 in Missouri, nine in Illinois, four in Kentucky and two in Arkansas.
