SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Dec. 16, 2016) — Tire Rack Inc. is changing the name of its Tire Rack Wholesale business to TR Wholesale Solutions, effective Jan. 1., in order to "more accurately describe what is being offered by this team."
"The time is right to rename Tire Rack Wholesale as TR Wholesale Solutions to serve our wholesale customers,…" Mark Veldman, president and CEO of TR Wholesale Solutions said.
The Tire Rack consumer site is not affected.
"This name more aptly describes the comprehensive solutions that we can provide and are looking forward to further developing for our wholesale customers," Mr. Veldman said.
"The best part is that, other then the name, customers shouldn't notice any changes in that they will still be working with the same great team in all areas of the business from sales to customer service to accounting."
The over-arching goal, Tire Rack said, is to describe more accurately the "solutions" offered while providing the opportunity to improve the level of customer service and complete product offering customers have come to expect.
Tire Rack Wholesale started in 1988 in South Bend with the goal of supplying tires to those retailers reselling the product to customers who were looking for a specific product to fill their tire needs.
The business evolved to include wheels, suspension components and various accessories, Tire Rack said, which created the need for a "comprehensive solution" to provide "industry-leading" service for automotive retailers from independent shops to corporate chains.
TR Wholesale Solutions will continue to send its customers the familiar "Update" monthly mailing and PDF under the new TR Wholesale Solutions identify.
TR Wholesale Solutions will continue to supply customers through its nine distributions centers, which collectively span 2.5 million square feet of space.
