Falken OE on Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2016) — Vehicle maker FCA Group has selected the Falken Wildpeak H/T01A 2 light truck/SUV tire as the standard OE fitment on the four-wheel-drive 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk SUV.

The tire — in size 215/65R17 — is fitted to the Trailhawk at FCA Group's car assembly plant in Melfi, Italy. It features a shoulder specially designed to suit the Trailhawk, according to Falken-brand owner Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc., for stability and optimal comfort.

The Trailhawk model delivers “best-in-class” 4x4 trail-rated capability, FCA claims, with its proprietary Jeep Active Drive Low, which includes 20:1 crawl ratio and Jeep Selec-Terrain system.

The Renegade SUV is built on the same chassis platform as the Fiat 500X four-wheel-drive version.  

“The pairing of our Wildpeak H/T01A 2 with the Jeep Renegade makes a perfect combination for the vehicle's driving experience,” said Rick Brennan, executive director of marketing for Falken. “We are confident this alignment will produce a successful partnership for both of our industry-leading brands.”

The 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk fitted with H/T01A 2 tires is available now, Falken said.

Continental A.G., Goodyear and Kumho Tire Co. Inc. have OE fitments on other Jeep Renegade models, according to the vehicle's spec sheet: The Sport and Latitude versions use Conti's CrossContact LX Sport while the Limited version uses either the Goodyear Eagle Sport or Kumho Crugen.
