Fed-Mogul to continue tech scholarships

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Nov. 29, 2016) — Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp.'s Federal-Mogul Motorparts division will, for the third consecutive year, award $30,000 in scholarships to future automotive technicians enrolled in accredited, U.S.-based automotive technical schools, colleges or universities.

The scholarships are part of the company's comprehensive “Tech First” initiative, which includes its nationwide Garage Gurus network of technical education centers. Federal-Mogul will award a dozen $2,500 Garage Gurus Automotive Technician Scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year, the company said.

Applications are being accepted now and are available online at www.FMgaragegurus.com/scholarship. All materials must be submitted by April 30, 2017, in order to qualify.

Scholarships will be awarded based on completed applications, written essays and videos describing “Why I want to be a top technician,” along with other criteria. All applications and related materials will be reviewed by Federal-Mogul employees and its team of ASE Master-certified Garage Gurus.
