Dunn to move Rochester D/C to larger site

HENRIETTA, N.Y. (Nov. 28, 2016) — Dunn Tire L.L.C. plans to move its wholesale distribution operation in the Rochester area this coming February to a 75,000-sq.-ft. building under construction in Henrietta, a Rochester suburb.

Dunn Tire said the building will replace an “older, smaller and inefficiently structured facility nearby.”  

The facility, which is expandable to 115,000 square feet, will allow Dunn's Exxpress Tire Delivery wholesale business to improve service to its customers in western and central New York, according to David Simons, executive vice president and CFO, while also serving Dunn's retail stores in the area. 

The building also will house Dunn's Rochester area wholesale salesforce and operate as a regional retail headquarters along with providing space for both wholesale and retail training and conference needs, Mr. Simons said.

Construction is being handled by LeFrois Builders & Developers  of Henrietta. Dunn will lease the facility.

Wholesale accounts for about 55 percent of Dunn Tire's annual sales, which amounted to roughly $62 million last year.

Mr. Simons said ETD has maintained consistent growth throughout the region despite an influx of competition from national and major regional wholesalers.

Besides Rochester, ETD operates wholesale centers in Buffalo, Jamestown, Olean, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, N.Y., and Erie, Pa. Henrietta is a community of about 42,000 south of Rochester near the I-90/I-390 interchange.
