Tire Pros backing Small Business Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Nov. 22, 2016) — American Tire Distributors' Tire Pros dealer group is showing support for Small Business Saturday by continuing its support of Independent We Stand and by highlighting the role small businesses play in the local economy.

Tire Pros is urging all of its 740 locations to promote the seventh annual Small Business Saturday — held the Saturday after Thanksgiving — and is encouraging them to remind the community of the role small businesses play in the local economy.

“Local is at the heart of what we do and what our elite retailers do,” said B. Quick Chadwick, director of marketing for Tire Pros. “We take great pride in being associated with so many of the country's best independent tire dealers who are truly a part of the fabric of their communities and remain committed to making an impact, not just talk about it.”

In recognition of Small Business Saturday, Tire Pros will offer several promotions including “Give Thanks to Veterans Sales Event,” where consumers can earn up to a $120 mail-in rebate with the purchase of any four new General Tire brand passenger or light truck tires.

This promotion also offers consumers the opportunity to defer a portion of their rebate to Tire Pros' “Allies for Independence” campaign benefiting injured veterans through The Independence Fund.

Independent We Stand, a group of independent business owners committed to educating the public about the benefits of buying local, recently upgraded its Buy Local app which helps consumers find local place to “shop, eat, stay and play.” It also is hosting a Shop Small Selfie contest which is designed to give local shops free promotional and qualifies selfie-snapping shoppers the chance to win one of five $100 American Express Gift Cards.

Created in 2010 by American Express, Small Business Saturday celebrates the ways in which small, local businesses “can create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country,” Tire Pros said.
