LAS VEGAS (Nov. 9, 2016) — Mitchell Repair Information Co. L.L.C.'s Mitchell 1 brand has added enhancements to its latest release of the Manager SE shop management system to streamline auto repair shop accounting and credit card payment tasks and it expanded its SureTrack diagnostic information resource in ProDemand to more than 32 million Real Fixes to assist technicians of all skill levels with their diagnostics.
Mitchell 1 also announced that the Manager SE is the first auto repair shop management system to include the Toyota Active Recall notification capability.
Two applications, Accounting Link from The Back Office and 1st Mile powered by Merchant Partners, have been integrated with Manager SE as optional tools to give auto repair shop owners additional ways to streamline their business operations, the company said.
Accounting Link is an auditing tool that integrates computer-based accounting programs to the Manager SE shop management software for easier transfer of accounting data. Dealers can choose to use a wide variety of the leading accounting packages, they do not have to create a new company file, they can set up and perform accounting tasks from office or home, and they can process accounting data from multiple locations, the company said.
1st Mile provides credit and debit card processing technology that automates the shop's payment process and helps increase security, reliability and efficiency at the point of sale, Mitchell 1 said. The service gives shops access to 10 million fleet card users and the ability to use retail finance cards as well as traditional credit and debit cards. The program also provides next-day funding, mobile wallet capability and an automated credit application process to help consumers receive instant financing when needed.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Active Recall feature in the Manager SE helps techs notify owners of older Toyota vehicles that are out of warranty or whose vehicles are not regularly serviced at Toyota dealerships.
When customers driving Toyota, Scion or Lexus models with unperformed recalls arrive at an independent auto repair shop that uses the Manager SE system, the service writer is automatically notified if there are unperformed recalls to be done on the vehicle. The service writer can then display and print the recall information so the vehicle owner can be advised and take appropriate action, the company said.
Mitchell 1 said its Manager SE helps mechanical auto repair shops streamline workflow and track activity from estimate to invoice. The tools and reports in Manager SE give shops a 360-degree view of the entire operation, helping them manage repairs, customer service and the overall business more efficiently and profitably, the company said. Manager SE is integrated with ProDemand, Mitchell 1's repair information system, to further increase shop productivity.
ProDemand's Real Fixes program offers verified solutions to vehicle problems, based on actual repairs performed in professional auto repair shops. In addition to the Real Fixes, SureTrack offers over 483 million “Fixed Its” — documented instances where a technician has applied a Real Fix to solve the issue on the vehicle they are working on. Having this insight can help steer the technician to the most likely root cause of a vehicle issue, saving time and helping increase accuracy, the company said.
“Over the last year, we have expanded the number of Real Fixes in ProDemand at a rate of about 250,000 per month, with more focus on fixes that address less common problems. This means automotive repair professionals can solve more problems on more vehicles than ever before,” said Ben Johnson, director of product management for Mitchell 1.
SureTrack combines diagnostic insights with repair timesavers and detailed parts replacement records, all provided in an interactive community of thousands of repair professionals and expert technicians, the company said.
