Chrysler said that the power liftgate on some 2011-12 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs may not open or close when commanded by the power switch.
According to the carmaker, the problem is most prominent on vehicles built between March 1, 2010, and March 1, 2012, and is due to software anomalies in the power liftgate control module.
Reprogramming the module with updated calibration files is the only surefire fix. Check with a dealer for the specifics of the flash.
