LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2, 2016) — MAHLE Service Solutions has unveiled the SmartACX smartphone app to help technicians view the status of the company's ArcticPRO machines during vehicle service.
The SmartACX app allows a technician to remotely view the values and status of the Kia ArcticPRO ACX1299 A/C machine while it is in use on a vehicle so the technician can attend to another service job.
Once a technician pairs the mobile phone app with one of the machines using a QR code, he/she can walk away and perform other tasks without the necessity to see the machine light or listen for the buzzer, the company said. The app automatically displays the pertinent values and an alert notification on the technician's smartphone.
“We design all our products with the idea of helping make repair shops and their technicians efficient and productive with their time,” said Andreas Huber, general manager, MAHLE Service Solutions. “Our new app brings innovation to the repair bay by eliminating the need for the technician to walk back and forth to the machine to check on its status.”
The app works over Wi-Fi or cellular data and can be downloaded for free at the Apple Store (IOS) or through Google Play (Android). MAHLE said it will be making the app available on additional platforms in the coming months.
MAHLE introduced the ArcticPRO ACX1299 A/C machine exclusively for Kia dealers last January as a digital air conditioning machine designed to service vehicles using the new R1234yf refrigerant. It is the first A/C service equipment to be fully integrated with MAHLE's TechPRO diagnostic scan tool software.
