GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (Nov. 1, 2016) — Leeds West Groups (LWG), a Big O Tires L.L.C. and Midas Muffler Brake Inc. franchisee with 55 stores, has acquired the headquarters building of Grease Monkey International Corp., which it intends to make its own headquarters next year.
Leeds West owns and operates Big O Tires, Midas and SpeedeeOil locations in 10 states and is considered largest operator of Midas locations, and the 18th largest aftermarket auto group as a whole with 500-plus employees.
Grease Monkey International will lease back the location for an undisclosed amount of time before the company moves, Leeds West said. The franchise group intends to move into the space during summer 2017.
Financial details are not being disclosed. Grease Monkey did not comment.
Leeds West said it chose the Grease Monkey building because it fit the group's needs for a location large enough to accommodate its expected growth trajectory over the next 36 months, while also having an automotive-specific set up and history.
The acquisition “highlights LWG's commitment to this growth pattern we are currently on,” said Judd Kyle Shader, the company's CEO. “We are truly a Colorado based company with a national footprint, and this sets up LWG very well for our expected growth patterns,…while showing our commitment to always being a Colorado-based organization.”
Grease Monkey is the nation's largest independent franchisor of automotive oil change centers with more than 300 centers in operation serving more than 2 million customers each year.
