DALLAS (Oct. 31, 2016) — Just Brakes Total Car Care has secured a tire supply deal for its 136 locations through Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack's Pep Express Parts wholesale delivery business to shore up its expanding tire retail initiative.

“…Our stores must have the ability to source tires with immediate access for our customers,” said Just Brakes CEO Bill Ihnken. “Just Brakes has added Pep Express Parts because their ‘hot shot' delivery, robust hours of operation and 800-plus locations will ensure that Just Brakes can access their products without delay. Easy access to a wide range of products will complement our tire category.”

Just Brakes disclosed its initiative in June to add tires to the product mix and its growing network of auto repair and maintenance outlets.

That program features the Nexen brand, which Just Brakes buys from American Tire Distributors Inc.

Implementing additional sources is a natural fit for Just Brakes, the company said, and will allow Just Brakes to offer a wider variety of brands to their customers.

“Pep Boys has been a trusted name in the industry since 1921, and we're proud to partner with Just Brakes to bring that trust to their customers,” said Jeff Smith, director of national sales for Pep Boys.

“We look forward to helping Just Brakes increase their success in the tire business with our comprehensive tire program designed just for them,” said Rick Levy, vice president of major accounts for Pep Boys.

“Our large selection of offerings will fit all of Just Brakes' customers' needs with several major tire brands, such as Cooper, Hankook, Continental and Pirelli.”

Established in 1980, Just Brakes has grown from a single location in Bryan, Texas, to over 136 locations in eight states and 14 major markets.

This is the second major account Pep Boys has picked up this year. In April Meineke Car Care Centers L.L.C. disclosed it was tapping into Pep Boys' “TreadSmart” a wholesale tire procurement program as an additional source of tire supply for its 900-plus locations nationwide.
