LONG LAKE, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2016) — The American Car Rental Association (ACRA) has struck a deal with Goodyear that provides national account tire purchase pricing for ACRA members in the U.S.
The deal covers Goodyear-, Dunlop- and Kelly-brand car and light truck tires, ACRA said, as well as car and light truck repair and preventive maintenance services through the Goodyear National Fleet Account program.
The trade association noted savings for services typically run 30 to 35 percent off the standard pricing.
The agreement calls for ACRA members to source tires at the prescribed discounted prices through authorized U.S. Goodyear dealers, which covers more than 4,000 Goodyear company and independently owned locations.
In response to a query about the program, Goodyear said it “is always looking for ways to collaborate with customers and showcase our award-winning products and extensive nationwide network of company and independently owned locations.
“This relationship is part of that effort, and we will continue to explore opportunities with organizations that make Goodyear products easy to buy, own and recommend.”
ACRA said this is its only discount program with a tire manufacturer. It is being offered to ACRA members at no charge.
According to its mission statement, the purpose of ACRA is to promote, improve, and enhance the motor vehicle rental industry by supporting and promoting sensible legislation that will benefit all its members.
Among ACRA's vehicle rental members are: ACE Rent A Car Inc.; Advantage Rent A Car; Avis Budget Group; Bluebird Auto Rental Systems; Chrysler Group; Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group; Economy Car Rental; Fox Rent A Car; Hertz Corp.; HyreCar Inc.; International Franchise Systems (NextCar, Rent-A-Wreck, Priceless); Mazda North American Operations; Nu Car Rentals; Payless Car Rental; Rentalcars.com; Sixt Rent A Car; Smartway Europe Ltd.; Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc.; TSD Rental L.L.C.; U-Haul Car Share; U-Save Auto Rental; and Volkswagen of America.
