ULM, Germany (Oct. 5, 2016) — Liqui Moly G.m.b.H. has introduced a line of motor oils that glow green to signify they offer strong protection to reduce friction and a device designed to simplify automatic transmission fluid changes.
The company said the new oil line, Molygen New Generation, uses friction modifiers, chemical ingredients that smooth the metal surfaces in the motor and even out microscopically small bumps, for the added protection. This helps reduce friction in the motor and reduce fuel consumption, the company said, and protects against wear by up to 30 percent.
The Molygen product line is available in five viscosities — 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40, and 5W-40.
The other new product, the Gear Tronic automatic transmission oil change device, works independently and does not have to be monitored. The Gear Tronic pumps the old fluid away and, at the same time, pumps fresh fluid into the transmission. This ensures a complete exchange of the ATF while the fill quantity remains the same, the company said.
Gear Tronic also can administer additives.
“The effort for this is minimal, the sales potential through extra services is not to be scoffed at,” said Sebastian Zelger, responsible for the North American business of Liqui Moly.
Liqui Moly will be showcasing the equipment along with its series of oils, additives and service products at Booth #33021 at AAPEX, Nov. 1-3, in Las Vegas. The company's U.S. operation, Liqui Moly USA Inc., is based in Bonney Lake, Wash.
