YourMechanic debuts chatbot

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2016) — YourMechanic Inc., an on-demand car repair service, has launched a chatbot for car owners in conjunction with Car Care Month in October.

    The chatbot expands upon YourMechanic's online resources for car owners, including expert advice from certified mechanics.

    YourMechanic said it developed a chatbot — an artificial person that holds conversations with visitors to the site — for car owners following the popularity of YourMechanic Advice, an online library of mechanic-provided tips and resources for car owners on a range of technical and non-technical topics, from tire maintenance to the top U.S. road trips.

    “We are excited to offer a chatbot to help car owners easily check the price of a repair, maintenance, or diagnostic service, book an appointment, or look up negotiation tips while shopping for a car,” said Lee Senderov, vice president and general manager, North America.

    “Our priority at YourMechanic is to deliver convenient and top-quality service to car owners and provide upfront pricing and our new chatbot is an extension of this commitment.”

    Through the chatbot, car owners can obtain a car repair estimate for 500-plus services and book an appointment with a network of mechanics who will come to their homes or offices equipped with all parts and tools to complete all work, the company said.

    All appointments include a free 50-point inspection and service report. Services are backed by YourMechanic's 12-month/12,000-mile warranty. YourMechanic contracts with hundreds of mechanics in several markets around the country.

    Car owners also can access expert advice through the chatbot from experienced mechanics on more than 25,000 automotive topics, including illustrated do-it-yourself guides.

    Customers can access YourMechanic's chatbot on Facebook.
