LADOUX, France (Sept. 27, 2016) — Group Michelin has inaugurated the “research, development and industrialization” campus at its Ladoux technology center, with Michelin CEO Jean-Dominique Senard saying the facility would focus on the demands of customers within the “digital revolution.”
The RDI Center is part of a six-year, $350 million upgrade of Michelin's Ladoux research complex.
The digital revolution, Mr. Senard said, “involves more than e-commerce, tablets or support for start-ups. It has deeply shaken relations with customers, who now hold the power and expect content that is richer in services, simplicity and above all who expect an integrated offering to serve its mobility needs.”
The group CEO went on to say, “Digital technology is not a fashion; it's a powerful force for transforming the economy. Michelin has chosen to actively incorporate this change into its operations, rather than submit to it.
