DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 26, 2016) — Titan International Inc. is lending support to Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4H members who are restoring antique tractors, offering free tires to qualified applicants.

“Titan feels that nothing is more important to our industry than supporting its future — the young men and women who will carry the torch of our country's proud farming legacy,” says Scott Sloan, agricultural product manager for Titan and Goodyear Farm Tires.

“The opportunity to equip these students with tires for their restoration projects is just our way of supporting the enormous time and talent that they put into the program, and we're proud to do our part.”

Titan said it awards hundreds of sets of tires each year to qualified applicants under the auspices of its antique tractor restoration program.

Students can apply for free tires at the company's dedicated antique tractor site. Those interested can view Titan's portfolio of antique tractor tires online.

In addition to the tractor restoration program, Titan holds regional tire auctions each year to benefit state FFA chapters. In 2015 alone, Titan said its tire auctions helped raise more than $200,000 for regional FFA chapters.

It held auctions during the recent Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Neb., and Farm Science Review in Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 20-22, and plans to hold an auction at the Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition in Moultrie, Ga., Oct. 18-20.

The National FFA Foundation builds partnerships with industry, education, government, other foundations and individuals to secure financial resources that recognize FFA member achievements, develop student leaders and support the future of agricultural education.
