BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec (Sept. 21, 2016) — Unimax Tire Ltd. has struck a deal with auto parts wholesaler Uni-Select Inc. to supply tires to more than 200 auto service locations in Canada's Atlantic Provinces operating under the Uni-Select Atlantic banner.
Moncton, New Brunswick-based Uni-Select Atlantic is an operating unit of Boucherville-based Uni-Select Inc., which operates coast to coast across Canada through 13 distribution centers, supplying more than 1,100 independent dealers with auto parts.
This agreement covers only the Atlantic provinces — New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island — the companies said. Separately, Unimax supplies selected distributors in Quebec.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Among Unimax's 30 warehouses is one in the Atlantic Provinces, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Uni-Select Inc. was founded in 1968 by 12 Québec businessmen who decided to join forces to form a purchasing group for aftermarket parts. In 2015, Uni-Select sold its Uni-Select USA, Inc. and Beck/Arnley Worldparts Inc. assets to an affiliate of Icahn Enterprises L.P.
