BOWIE, Md. (Sept. 16, 2016) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced the results of the 2016-2017 board of directors election.
Elected to the four open seats were:
- Anthony Blackman, Atlantic Tire & Service, Inc., Cary, N.C. (returning)
- Dan Nothdurft, Tires Tires Tires, Sioux Falls, S.D.
- Jim Pangle, Fountain Tire, Edmonton, Alta., Canada (returning)
- Brian Rigney, Dill Air Controls, Oxford, N.C. (returning)
Each of the newly elected board members will serve three-year terms beginning Oct. 31, when they are installed during TIA's annual meeting at the Tropicana Las Vegas.
"We were fortunate to have had a tremendous number of qualified candidates vying for the board positions again this year,” Roy Littlefield, TIA's executive vice president, said in a statement issued by the association. “We are appreciative of all the candidates who have a desire to serve the industry."
Additionally, TIA announced that Mason Hess, of Tucson, Ariz.-based Purcell Tire, was placed into the one-year vacancy that was created when John Evankovich, of Sam's Club, was elected secretary.
Chuck Space, of Texas Tire & Automotive Association, was named the new state/provincial representative on the board.
In a news release, TIA also thanked outgoing board members Bob Bignell, Ernie Caramanico, Lyssa da Costa and Joseph Henmueller for their work and dedication.
