LONDON (Sept. 9, 2016) — Trelleborg A.B. has acquired International Tyre & Wheel Solutions Ltd., a United Kingdom distributor of solid OTR tires, in a deal that Trelleborg said should help it improve its position in the Middle East and Africa.

Warrington, England-based ITWS specializes in tires for the waste, recycling and demolition industries, with an emphasis on its own proprietary brand, SG Revolution, which it sources from Thailand.

Financial terms were not disclosed. ITWS's sales last year were nearly $5 million, Trelleborg said.

The acquisition complements Trelleborg's acquisition earlier this year of agricultural and industrial tire maker Mitas a.s. and gives the Swedish company “a clear and broad offering in both pneumatic and solid tires across Europe, Middle East and Africa.”

The two acquisitions provide Trelleborg with a “strong platform for growth in construction sales in Middle East and Africa through leveraging our applications expertise throughout our EMEA network and structure,” a company spokeswoman said.

ITWS describes the SG Revolution line as “suitable for all types of mobile plant including wheeled loaders, telehandlers, wheeled excavators, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, terminal handlers and forklift trucks” and offer performance that is “second to none” in terms of hours per millimeter and cost per hour.

ITWS offers SG Revolution super cushion solid tires in sizes from 400x8 up to 35/65-33 L5, with a choice of pattern to suit every working environment.
