DALLAS (Aug. 25, 2016) — Performance auto parts marketer Summit Racing Equipment has picked Dallas as the site for its fourth distribution center and retail super store.

Summit Racing expects to start construction on the facility this fall and start shipping online orders by mid-2017. The 32,000-sq.-ft retail store will open shortly thereafter.

“The Retail Super Store gives customers the opportunity to see parts in person and talk directly with a tech adviser about their projects,” Advertising Manager Nan Gelhard said.

“You can place an order on the SummitRacing.com website and pick it up in the store. If you're visiting from out of town, you can order at the store and have it shipped to your home.”

Summit Racing did not disclose the projected investment to open the store.

Summit Racing's other retail stores are in Sparks, Nev., McDonough, Ga., and at the company's headquarters in Tallmadge, Ohio. It's been 10 years since Summit last expanded, opening the McDonough store.

The D/C will stock parts from more than 1,200 manufacturers, ready for immediate delivery, Summit said. Among the parts stocked are custom wheels from American Racing, Enkei, KMC, Vision and Weld Racing and tires from BFGoodrich, Goodyear, Michelin, Mickey Thompson, Coker Tire, Yokohama and more.

Customers in most of Texas and adjacent states should expect one-day delivery on orders for in-stock parts, the company said.

Summit Racing, considered one of the largest suppliers of performance auto parts nationwide, was founded in 1968 in Tallmadge by drag racer Paul Sergi Sr.
