WESTLAKE, Ohio (Aug. 26, 2016) — Truck stop chain TravelCenters of America L.L.C. (TA) has partnered with Blue Tiger USA to benefit truck drivers through the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund (SCF) by donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of specially designed Blue Tiger Elite headsets.

The operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers presented a check for $105,000 to SCF on Aug. 25 during a press conference at the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas. TA said the check was made possible by Blue Tiger, which designated $10 for each headset sold by TravelCenters locations.

“We are so excited about the Blue Tiger Elite headset program with TravelCenters and Blue Tiger USA. Professional drivers know SCF's primary mission is supporting them through difficult medical issues and this campaign helps us do just that,” said Shannon Currier, director of philanthropy and development with SCF.” We are proud of this partnership and this amazing product and thank TravelCenters and Blue Tiger USA for your support!”

Tom O'Brien, Westlake-based TA's president and CEO, said “drivers know how important SCF is to them and their families and we are honored to be associated with both SCF and Blue Tiger.”

Since 2010, TA's “Band Together for SCF” annual campaigns and other fundraisers have generated more than $1.7 million in donations to help with financial support when drivers are off the road due to medical issues.

“Professional drivers directly support the United States economy and it's really amazing what the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund (SCF) has done to support them,” said Fieras Saah, president of Blue Tiger, noting that TA has “stepped in to help support this organization without any hesitation. We could not be more proud to partner with TA and Petro Stopping Centers to give back to some of the hardworking people who keep America running.”

TravelCenters conducts business in 43 states and Canada, principally under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands and the Minit Mart convenience store brand.

SCF is a 501(c) (3), nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to professional truck drivers who have medical problems and are in need of financial assistance.

Founded in 2009, Blue Tiger USA is a consumer electronics manufacturer specializing in premium Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth wireless speakers and dash cameras.
