DALLAS (Aug. 25, 2016) — Seven tire manufacturers will be exhibiting at the 2016 Great American Trucking Show in at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas Aug. 25-27.
The seven are: Alliance Tire Group (Aeolus brand); Bridgestone Americas (represented by its GCR/Speedco units); Goodyear (Goodyear, Kelly, Dunlop brands); Hankook Tire America Corp.; Michelin Americas Truck Tires (Michelin, BFGoodrich and Uniroyal brands); Sumitomo Rubber North America (Falken brand); and TBC Corp. (Sailun and Sumitomo brands).
GATS is an all-encompassing convention of trucking professionals that features more than 500 exhibitors representing truck, trailer, engine, component and parts manufacturers, as well as services catering to the heavy and medium duty truck industry.
“Since its inception, GATS has provided marketers like us the opportunity to gain exposure while connecting with fellow leaders in the industry to best meet the needs of our existing and potential customers,” said Aaron Murphy, vice president, commercial tire sales for TBC.
“Our participation allows us to maintain and grow our strategic relationships within the trucking industry while building on our underlying foundation at TBC Brands to provide customers with high-quality product lines through a process that is as effortless as possible for them.”
TBC Brands will be exhibiting both Sumitomo- and Sailun-branded truck tire and will giving away sets of tires in a drawing during the show at the firm's booth, No. 18167.
TBC will discuss its “Sailun Advantage” dealer-support program that offers a six-year warranty, a casing buy-back program and 70-plus SKUs in rim diameters of 17.5 to 24.5 inches.
Goodyear said it plans to feature its Total Solution offerings, which it describes as a nationwide network of services and fleet management tools designed to help owner-operators of small- to mid-size fleets manage costs.
GATS attendees stopping by the Goodyear booth, No. 14077, will have the opportunity to enroll in the Goodyear Smart Fleet program. Benefits of membership to owner-operators include:
- Access to premium Goodyear brand truck tires, retreads and technologies;
- Online, published pricing on new Goodyear tires, retreads and services — honored by participating Goodyear commercial tire dealers;
- Access to Goodyear-Fleet HQ Emergency Roadside Service with a waived dispatching fee; and
- Customized tire performance and service activity reporting
Anyone signing up for the Goodyear Smart Fleet program during GATS will be entered into a drawing for their choice of two select steer tires. Additionally, those attending any of the four one-hour “Partners In Business” seminars — planned for 1 p.m. Aug. 26, and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 27 — will be eligible to enter the Goodyear steer tire drawing.
Bridgestone's GCR Tires & Service division will showcase its portfolio of products and services, including the company's new Tire Assessment tool, a standardized method for checking a customer's full vehicle, at every wheel position, for vulnerabilities such as irregular wear, mismatched tread depths and more.
Two-time Olympian swimmer Cullen Jones will appear at the GCR booth Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign autographs and take photos with show attendees. Mr. Jones was part of the gold-medal-winning 4x100 meter freestyle relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
GCR operates more than 200 truck service locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Falken Tires will display four over-the-highway medium-truck tires at GATS, including three in its EcoRun SmartWay-verified line — RI130 steer position, RI150 all position and BI830 drive position. Also being shown is the BI850 regional service drive tire.
“Showcasing our latest technology and how it can reduce operating costs is the key to our display this year,” said Rick Brennan, vice president of marketing.
