FINDLAY, Ohio (Aug. 18, 2016) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is expanding its Mastercraft line of light truck tires with the addition of the Courser CXT, a product engineered for rough off-road conditions while maintaining highway traction through all four seasons.
The tire features a silica-rich tread compound for all-season grip and tread wear on the highway, traction on off-road terrains and durable cut and chip resistance for sharp gravel roads. Variable full-depth siping helps increase wet traction, while providing extra biting edges for enhanced off-road traction, Cooper said.
The tire also has a Duo-Tech2 two-ply carcass construction for performance and its large tread elements and blocky design help resist abnormal wear while enhancing tread stability and durability, the tire maker said.
The Courser CXT is available in 29 sizes ranging from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters for light trucks (up to 1 ton) and high-powered torque vehicles.
