The Red Cross has called the devastation from parts of the state being under water “the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy.”
Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser told NPR that the flooding spreads over 20 parishes, many persons and businesses don't have flood insurance, and more rain is expected on the already saturated ground.
