AKRON (Aug. 11, 2016) — The early-bird discount available for those wanting to attend the International Tire & Exhibition Conference (ITEC) expires on Friday, Aug 12.

The event will be held Sept. 13-15 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.

Cost for manufacturers is $325 until Friday, $425 afterward. For suppliers, conference registration is $575 until Friday and $675 afterward.

More than 55 programs have been scheduled, along with a growing number of panelists, for the event.

David Stafford, executive vice president, personnel and chief human resources officer for Michelin North America Inc., will deliver the keynote address. Stafford's presentation will be held Sept. 13 at 3:45 p.m.

Andreas Limper, a longtime scientist who is managing director and a member of the management board of Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH, also known as the HF Mixing Group, will receive the 2016 Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Medal.

The award recognizes a person “whose contribution of pioneering research in tire construction, tread design and manufacturing, coupled with engineering and materials innovations, has significantly contributed to the betterment of society, safety of transportation and global tire technology.”

Limper will receive the award during a special breakfast ceremony, to be held from 8-9 a.m. on Sept. 14.

ITEC also will include unit operations workshops, a forensic tire review, a special group of programs recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Banbury Mixer; and testing and consumer panels.

Daily prize drawings will be held on the exhibition floor.
